I Chose New Zealand Holiday Homes So I could Watch The Ships

It was over thirty five years ago that my ship arrived in Auckland NZ for a short stay before we were scheduled to participate in a joint exercise with the NZ Navy.   After Auckland we got underway and steamed to the Bay of Islands for a meeting of all the commanders.   We spent the day onboard ship looking at all the beautiful beaches and wondering what was going on there.   Now I am going back and staying in one of the New Zealand Holiday Homes there.  They had several homes available and I requested one that would be right on the beach so I can now look out at any ships that pull into the bay.
