The Benefits of Fat, Protein and Carbohydrates in Your Bodybuilding Routine

My brother is an avid bodybuilder but did not understand the importance of nutrition with exercise. Bodybuilding Nutrition was easy to explain to him because it makes great sense. Many builders think that they need to eliminate fat from their diet and concentrate mostly on protein and then carbohydrates. While at first glance this may be believable, it has a false base. Understanding the benefits of fats helped my brother understand why fat is as important as protein and carbohydrates in his diet. Carbohydrates and protein contain four kilocalories (energy) per gram while fat provides nine kilocalories (energy) per gram. With this information, it is easy to see that fat gives more energy per gram than either protein or carbohydrates.
