An Allergic Reaction to New Food
My dog has always been very healthy and has never had to go to the vet for anything other than her vaccinations. She was in the house a couple of weeks ago when all of a sudden she began to have very bloody diarrhea all over the kitchen. I rushed her outside and cleaned her up. She was really uncomfortable. This was in the evening and I called my vet who recommended I give my dog some dog probiotics. He asked me if I had changed her food recently and I told him I had. He told me to stop the new food and give my dog the probiotics along with some bland food if she would take it. After a few days of that regimen she was back to normal. My veterinarian told me that there was most likely something in the food that my dog had an allergic reaction to.
