My Baby Wakes for the Pacifier
New babies need some time to become adjusted to regular sleeping schedules. Typically, a baby will not begin sleeping through the night until he or she is around six months old. You may notice, particularly during the third to fourth month that your baby wakes for pacifier in the middle of the night. If your baby is soothed by a pacifier it is a good idea to keep one close, particularly if he or she is not sleeping with the pacifier. Keep it on a side table near the bed so that you can easily give it to baby when he or she awakes and they should drift back to sleep easily.
