Questions About Osteoporosis Treatment

My mother called me last night and told me that her doctor called her with the results of her bone density test.  She has osteoporosis and her doctor has prescribed an Osteoporosis Treatment medication.  She got the name of the medication from her doctor that she prescribed and asked her what her other options were.  The doctor told her there were no other options which did not sit well with mom at all.  She like to be able to make choices regarding her health care.  She found that answer to be unacceptable.  She has asked me to do some research online to learn more about osteoporosis and its treatment so she can speak with her doctor.
